Ancient Principles. Terry Haines' Blog 24.07.12

Updated: Aug 4

•• Our nation's founders believed that there were universal principles that brought about good government. They sought to discover these "ancient principles" by vigorously studying different country's history and also by studying the Bible. ••

He drew a circle that shut me out -

Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout.

But love and I had the wit to win:

We drew a circle and took him in!

~ Edwin Markham

Being a Peacemaker- Not Easy

Have you ever heard the term Zero Sum Game? It's known by other names. It's the opposite of a win-win situation. In a Zero Sum Game, only one person or one group of people win. The Olympics are enjoyable because we see the world's best skilled athletes from all over the world. It is a Zero Sum Game being played out internationally. That's great for games. Almost every sport is a Zero Sum Game on purpose. For every winner, there is a loser. Plus one, minus one, and the total sum is zero. That is enjoyable in almost every sport, but it is terrible politics. The Zero Sum Game at the political level is elitism. Few win. Many lose. Good politics is when you have as many winners as you can possibly have. You need win-win situations in massive quantities.

Just in the last year I found myself in a situation where emotions ran hot and I found myself the friends of two opposing agendas. I chose to be, I still choose to be, a peacemaker. There is a "radical middle" sometimes where two opposing groups meet. But these two groups have to want to have peace between them or need to have peace between them. I can't and I won't give more details because doing so would be betraying confidences.

Unfortunately when you are a peacemaker, you sometimes find yourself temporarily making enemies on both sides. It comes with the territory. But being a peacemaker is still an honorable thing. The goal is eventual peace with prosperity for the maximum amount of people.

Of the three candidates running for this office, I believe I am the one with the greatest desire and ability to create peace and prosperity for the most people. I have a good history in these matters both politically and on a business level. I feel because of this I deserve your vote.

Slavery has not just been a part of America. It has been a part of almost all societies throughout most of human history, including on this continent before we came here. It has not just been practiced only by white people. In fact, we should be proud that our country declared during its founding - somewhat hypocritically - a truth, that all men are created equal before God. Then, in a little over "fourscore and seven years" later our country abolished slavery. We were the first country to abolish slavery completely. Martin Luther King also reminded us of his dream that we would truly become a nation where all men were created equal.

NATIONAL DEBT

Neither Joe Biden, nor the Democrats, are solely responsible for our national debt. Biden is, however, responsible for the greatest increase ever in our national debt, even outdoing the national debt caused by Covid-19. Did you realize that every baby born in the United States immediately owes the government $100,000? Did you know that each new child will pay more than that in interest? Did you know that our country pays more in interest for our national debt that it does for the Department of Defense? Did you know that 40% of the total dollars EVER printed by the Federal Reserve have been printed in the last few months? That's saying something since the Federal Reserve was created in 1913. Anybody can look rich for a little while if they have borrowed a lot of money. But only for a little while.

Why am I talking about this? What can we do about it at the STATE level? We can move toward a Constitutional Balanced Budget Amendment through the Convention of States. In fact it is ONLY the states that might be willing to solve this debt problem. At the federal level, let's be realistic, this will never happen. The federal government will never reign in their spending. It MUST happen at the state level.

I am the ONLY candidate that is willing to actively pursue this course of action for the sake of my District and the State of Michigan and for the sake of our country.

• I'm not fully sure the point of Joe Biden's statement, but it must be something like, "Notice how active and capable I am. I'm not only running a vigorous campaign. I'm also a very busy world leader."

Or something like that.

Let me point out something not so obvious. Our power in this country is going from the city to the state to the federal government, and then it's being handed over to international experts who desire to control the world. But we are not electing Biden or Trump as President of the world, only as President of our country.

When we vote for globalism, we are voting away our own influence in our government.

I want to see power decentralized and come back to the states and the people. Then, if power is at a state level, our representatives can be held accountable and bureaucracy can be minimized.

We can bring freedom and power back to the states and the people, if we work together.

• Pure democracy, however, is dangerous.

A lynch mob is an example of pure democracy.

The crucifixion of Jesus was prompted by mob rule and is an example of pure democracy.

In a pure democracy, If 51% of America prefers vanilla over chocolate ice cream, chocolate ice cream might become illegal.

• Joe Biden may not be the Democratic Presidential nominee •

There is too much "play on the field" at this point to know that for certain.

I do think it's reasonable to assume that the same group of people who now control Biden and the Democratic Party will control the next Democratic nominee for President - despite the upcoming rhetoric.

So much of politics is choreographed. I think it is also likely that Joe Biden is positioning himself as having to battle his own Party to become President again. So he wants to appear, despite the fact that he has been involved in politics for fifty years, that he is the underdog.

Another great article, to be sure. Reading them makes me feel literate again in an illiterate society!! Great meme for "Democracy," and it took a couple seconds to understand the greater good (burning the scarecrow); that is genius. Are you on Truth Social? I find it refreshing in all the sick "social media." BTW, TH, I would vote for you! God Bless you and God Bless America. 🇺🇸
